Saturday night in Tottenham at the height of the troubles

The BBC's Andy Moore reports from behind police lines after a BBC satellite truck came under attack from youths throwing missiles.Police are on the streets of Tottenham, north London, where overnight riots saw petrol bombs thrown at officers and patrol cars and buildings set alight.Eight injured police officers were taken in hospital, at least one of them with head injuries.The unrest began after a protest over the fatal shooting by police of 29-year-old Mark Duggan on Thursday. About 300 people gathered outside the police station on the High Road after demonstrators demanded "justice".London Ambulance Service said a total of 10 people had been treated and nine had been taken to hospital.Two empty patrol cars were set alight at about 20:20 BST.Cdr Stephen Watson: "We had no information to suggest that we would have the scale of disorder that now confronts us"Shops in the area were looted, with people seen pushing away shopping trolleys full of goods. One local resident told the BBC that looting continued beyond daybreak on Sunday. A double-decker bus was set on fire at the junction of High Road and Brook Street while a shop on the High Road was also set alight. Fire crews were initially unable to reach the shop due to the disorder but later began tackling the flames.The BBC's Andy Moore says the rioters appear to have dispersed on Sunday morning and police were trying to restore calm.Our correspondent says that since riots in 1985 relations between the local community and police have been generally good, but last week's shooting raised tension.

Sunday morning - and the clean-up begins.

He says elements of the community were looking for instant answers to the shooting incident but the investigation into Mr Duggan's death would be more long-term.Commander Stephen Watson, of the Metropolitan Police, earlier told BBC News a significant number of officers had been deployed with the aim of restoring "calm and normality to the area as soon as possible". Police were continuing to deal with "isolated pockets of criminality" involving a few people, he said in a statement.The violence in Tottenham was not expected according to Commander Stephen Watson. At the same time the violence in Syria is escalating where government troops have now killed at least 38 people after scores of tanks and armoured vehicles launched an assault on the eastern Syrian city of Deir al-Zour.

We can explain the increase in volatility astrologically by the movement of Mars, which was at 2-18' Cancer yesterday at about the time the Tottenham 'peaceful demonstration' started, coming up to form a t-square with Pluto and Uranus. The wounding of innocent victims can be attributed to the Neptune-Chiron opposition to Mercury. In the UK chart, Mars is at 11-45' degrees Taurus and tr Jupiter was conjunct at 9-26' degrees Taurus square the Venus-Sun conjunction, indicating a peaceful protest that got out of hand and turned aggressive. And tr Mars was on the far Venus/Neptune midpoint in the UK chart at 2-38' degrees Capricorn again indicating the aggression that produced innocent victims. L.S.
