To understand TL66 in action in helps to look at some chart placements where the effect of this astrological powerhouse is dramatised. In the horoscopes of individuals TL66 is not always so telling. In fact, in some it may register as a dumb note where there is no apparent effect. In natal charts where it is not prominent this may not be surprising but this observation has also sometimes been recorded with transiting TL66. Why this should happen is not entirely clear. Possibly, it is connected into the consciousness requirements and abilities of the individual. For some people the effect is definitely traumatising. For some, a more positive experience of enlightenment is recorded, often subtly enriching rather than dramatic. In the horoscope of Diana, the late Princess of Wales, TL66 is conjuct Chiron in Pisces. Opposite is Mars conjunct Plutoin Virgo in 9th House. In this configuration can be seen the awareness of the colossal suffering and wounding of innocent people (TL66 conjunct Chiron in Pisces) and her international effort (9th House) to draw attention to anti-personnel landmines that kill and maim (Mars conjunct Pluto in Virgo). Note how the effect of TL66 allowed Diana to convey a 'moment of truth' and her 'perception of reality' to the world at large. A more sinister illustration of TL66 is in the horoscope of the Hiroshima atomic bombexplosion in which close to 100,000 people died. In this chart the Moon and Saturn are conjunct, symbolising the death of people. The 3 degree alignment of Pluto and the Sun conveys sense of destructive power but it is TL66 with its one degree opposition to the Sun from Aquarius, which speaks of the 'total annihilation' and the 'unimaginable destruction of the holocaust'. The apparent path of the Sun around the Earth is known as the Ecliptic. The plane in which the orbit lies can be cut at two points by the intersection of the plane formed by a planet or asteroid in its orbit around the Sun and viewed heliocentrically. The northern point is called the heliocentric, ascending or north node and is connected to the concept of uptake or intake. the real movement of this point is tiny but does need correction for precession of the equinoxes. It is particularly important for asteroids with highly elliptical orbits where, at aphelion, they are located at the extreme limits of the solar system. These asteroids may be the eyes and ears of the solar system, effectively being antennae, able to pick up 'signals' from the beyond through the intake mechanism of the north asteroidal node. In 2001, it occurred to me that by virtue of this mechanism any distant zodiacal ponit connected to that node degree could help to define the qualities of the north node of the asteroid and thus the asteroid itself.The north node of TL66 is currently at 7 degree Scorpio. Close by at 6 degrees Scorpio is the fixed star called Khambalia. This star's name has its roots in the old Coptic for 'Crooked Claw, which is probably the same symbol that is behind the swastika. This ancient symbol contains the idea of secret knowledge, accessible to us but only if one knows the way to it - as illustrated in the significance of the maze in other ancient cultures. The word 'Shambala' has a similar root and meaning. 'Kahmr' meaning wine is a symbol for esoteric truth, the truth of the transformed - those able to enter a state of transcendental state of consciousness. Khambalia is also associated with the penetration of secret, deep research, espionage, alchemy, argumentativeness and violence. As it so happens, at the same zodiacal degree is a giant, massive Black Hole; Centaurus A. This black hole has enormous power resulting from the collision of two galaxies. In meaning, it has the same associations with the same mind boggling power. Black holes connect different dimensions and this one seems to symbolise the penetrating transformation acquired through silence and stillness, through non-verbal communication, through supreme awareness.
