Sarah Palin - Republican Vice - Presidential nominee by Liz seddon 3 Sept.'08

Sarah Palin, the hitherto relatively un-known Governor of Alaska has been chosen by John McCain as his vice-presidential running mate. She is the mother of five children, the last one having been born in April 2008. Sarah Palin was born on 11th February 1964 at Sandpoint, Idaho. 48N14 116W33. (from Wikepedia) Birth time not known. I have used 12 noon.Let's take a look at Sarah's chart.One would assume with five planets in Aquarius that she is a person who is not averse to sudden changes and shock tactics. A humanitarian, whose unconventional views and actions may not always be accepted by the wider public. The Sun, Mars, Saturn conjunction in Aquarius (within 3 degrees) tells of a person who is hardworking, fearless, able to act decisively and responsiby with the ability to accomplish a great deal. Certainly, the various biographic web pages concerning her would back this up. However, all three planets are in square aspect to Neptune in Scorpio, which makes one wonder if she sees the reality of the situations as they are presented to her. This seems to be a most favourable aspect for politicians these days though as both George Bush and Barack Obama have their natal Sun in square aspect to Neptune while Gordon Brown has his Sun in Pisces and Putin has his Sun in the 12th House!

On 29 August 2008, Sarah was suddenly thrown into the spotlight of the world stage when John McCain chose her to be his vice- presidential nominee. The initial public reaction was that she was chosen to catch the female voters who would have backed Hillary Clinton. The transiting planet Uranus was exactly on her Jupiter/Saturn mid-point indicating the sudden expansion of her political position in the world. Transiting Neptune is conjunct her Sun just now and it seems that tactics are already being employed to try and tarnish her image. Towards the end of September tr Saturn will be conjunct her natal Pluto, making this a time of concentrated efforts and the changing of old structures. Heavy burdens could restrict freedom of movement. However, at the same time tr jupiter will be making a trine aspect to Pluto, which could indicate political success, and may help to alleviate some of the negative effects of the Saturn square.

At the time of the American elections on the 4th November 2008 transiting Pluto will be at 29 degrees of Sagittarius, getting close to making a square aspect to her natal Venus in Aries. At the same time the Saturn- Uranus opposition in the heavens will be making positive aspects to her Neptune. Could this be the realisation of a political dream for her?
