Prince William and Kate Middleton have been pronounced man and wife at Westminster Abbey. Some 1,900 guests watched the couple exchange their vows, with many millions watching at home. They left the Abbey, amid cheers from thousands of well-wishers lining the procession route.Prince William has been given the title of the Duke of Cambridge by the Queen, and Miss Middleton has become Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge.The dress was designed by Sarah Burton. The church service ran smoothly but the prince did struggle to place the wedding ring on the duchess's finger. Following a long tradition, the ring has been fashioned from Welsh gold given to Prince William by the Queen. After the couple said their vows, in which she did not promise to obey William, the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Rowan Williams, declared at 11.20am: "I pronounce that they be man and wife together.
William and Catherine met 10 years ago when both were students at St Andrew's university. They became friends and over time their friendship gradually blossomed into romance. I briefly looked at their individual charts when they announced their engagement last November. (see here)At that time I did not have Catherine's t.o.b. but I now have what looks like an authentic time from Astrotheme.com of 11.15am, 9 Jan 1982, giving her an Ascendant of 15-12' Aries and the Moon at 13-52' Cancer. Her Moon is perfectly conjunct William's N Node at 14-05' Cancer, indicating an emotional union. However, they both have a Moon-Mars square and Catherine's Moon also opposes her Sun. As Mars is the ruler of her ascendant, placed in Libra, this could create some tension within relationships. Particularly as Saturn and Pluto are also placed in Libra in her 7th house and both square her Sun making a t-square. William's outer planets make the same aspects and this could create some difficulties for them.
I have drawn up a composite chart for them (inner wheel) and put it on a bi-wheel with the wedding chart. (outer wheel). Cast for 29 April, 11.20am, London, UK.We can see immediately that the composite chart has a stellium in Aries that makes a t-square with the Moon and Mars, echoing their natal aspect. The same applies to the Pluto and Saturn conjunction in the composite chart. This can indicate tenacity and toughness but also hard-heartedness. It remains to be seen how they will live this out. Composite Saturn squares the Moon's Node and can be an indicator of loss and separation. Uranus is conjunct the MC, bothtrine the Aries planets and suggests that their individual work schedules stimulate their personal relationship. The wedding chart has 5 degrees of Leo rising - befitting a royal celebration. The chart ruler, the Sun, makes a nice trine aspect to Pluto indicating the intensity and celebration of this day. However, there is a difficult t-square consisting of Pluto, Saturn, Uranus,
Venus, MC and Mercury and this suggests control and power issues are likely to arise. Uranus is also on the Venus/Moon midpoint and that does not bode well for a long-term emotional relationship. The same applies to Neptune conjunct Chiron in the 7th house, which implies pain through disillusion. By the way, the wedding Venus is conjunct their C Sun and wedding Uranus is conjunct their C Venus which makes for an affectionate and exciting time. It is interesting to note that in William's progressed chart Venus has arrived at a conjunction with his natal Sun indicating marriage. And a pr Moon-Sun conjunction is coming up for the honeymoon period, which should make for some romantic times. It is William's pr Mercury square pr Mars that is likely to become troublesome later. Also, with current transits from Saturn, Pluto and Uranus in the cardinal signs aspecting their natal charts, the couple are having to face some difficult times ahead.
