Amanda Knox has the Sun in Cancer where the Venus-Mercury (asc.ruler) conjunction can be found that directly opposes Neptune and trines Pluto. This combination indicates that there is an emotional intensity and a certain depth to her relationships and the way in which she communicates, but unclarity and deception may be an issue. The Moon-is on the Uranus/Saturn midpoint opposite Chiron (the need for change is indicated here, but also a deep wounding to her early nurturing). The coverage has been criticised for being tabloid in nature rather than presenting the evidence accurately and dispassionately.
American student Amanda Knox and her former boyfriend have been found guilty by an Italian court of the murder of British student Meredith Kercher. Knox, 22, bowed her head and burst into tears as she was jailed for 26 years for murder and sexual violence. Italian Raffaele Sollecito, 25, looked impassive as he was given 25 years. Miss Kercher, 21, a Leeds University student from Surrey, was found with her throat slit in Perugia in 2007 after what prosecutors said had been a sexual assault that ended in her death. Knox had denied killing her. Twenty-one years old, from a loving family of six, Meredith Kercher had gone to Italy as part of the Erasmus student exchange programme, to study and immerse herself in the language and culture of the country. In the days after the crime, it did not take police long to find suspects. One, a bar owner named Patrick Lumumba, was soon released, after he provided an airtight alibi. He had been implicated by another suspect, Amanda Knox, Miss Kercher's housemate. Two others were arrested - Raffaele Sollecito, Knox's boyfriend and Rudy Guede. Guede was from Perugia and had attached himself to its lively student scene. By the end of 2008, he had been convicted of the murder, after choosing a fast-track trial. The judge gave him 30 years in jail. He is in the process of appealing. Meredith Kercher's family feel that justice has been done but not so Amanda Knox's family who protest that their daughter is not a killer and will be appealing against the sentence saying that the media had prejudiced the case by painting her as a she devil.What does the astrology tell us about the two people. Raffaele Sollecito's Sun in Aries squares both Neptune and Jupiter, which is the hallmark of a dreamer. The Sun trines Uranus. This could make him quite dynamic and attractive to the opposite sex but the square from Uranus to Venus is likely to create a need for change and excitement. The trine from Saturn giving it some neccesary stability. But he too has a potentially violent aspect in his chart and that is Saturn on the Pluto/Mars midpoint. Mercury conjunct Uranus sextile Jupiter infers her considerable intellect and interest in foreign cultures. On the day she was murdered tr Jupiter was conjunct natal Uranus and Pluto was on her Uranus/Sun midpoint. This combination can indicate sudden release of tensions through transformation of the life force (as in death) L.S.
