Prince Albert of Monaco Marries Charlene Wittstock 2 July 2011
All the ingredients for the lavish celebratory meal, created by Alain Ducasse - himself a Monaco citizen - will come from within a 10km (6-mile) radius of Monaco. More than 1,000 journalists from around the world have been accredited to cover the festivities in the principality, whose citizens number just 7,618.Princess Charlene represented South Africa in the swimming competitions at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. The tiny principality, which covers about 2 sq km (less than one square mile), is the world's smallest independent state after the Vatican City. Prince Albert II has been the ruler of Monaco since the death of his father, Prince Rainier III, in 2005.Henry Samuels and Patrick Sawer 7:48PM BST 02 Jul 2011 The wedding was a glittering affair, the likes of which have not been seen since Prince Rainier III married Hollywood icon Grace Kelly in Monaco more than half a century ago. Amid the splendour of the Mediterranean principality’s Italian Renaissance palace Prince Albert of Monaco and Charlene Wittstock, the former Olympic swimmer, had their marriage blessed in a Roman Catholic service on Saturday. But as the couple took their vows, Prince Albert’s colourful past threatened to overshadow the proceedings. It has now been revealed that, following the couple's civil ceremony, a senior palace official confirmed rumours that Prince Albert is likely to undergo the test after claims that he has fathered a third ilegitimate child.
There has been a lot of interest in Prince Albert's love life. He has admitted to having fathered two children by two different women, not to mention the many love affairs. But the playboy prince has tied the knot at last to Charlene Wittstock of South Africa. Their charts are on the left. Hers is the inner wheel, his the outer. If we take a look at the Prince's chart first, it becomes obvious why he has been involved in so much controversy regarding his love life. He has a Jupiter-Neptune conjunction in the 5th house (romance) in Scorpio, which makes a square aspect to Venus in Aquarius in the 8th house (sex), which in turn opposes Uranus in Leo, making a t-square. This is a highly romanticised aspect and the hallmark of someone who has difficulty relating to one person for any length of time as boredom is likely to creep in. The planet Mars is on his Venus/Moon midpoint adding to his passion for women. It squares Jupiter and indicates over-extension in that area. Mars is also square the Saturn/Pluto and Uranus/Moon midpoints and suggests that he can be quite ruthless and detached emotionally. He has the natal Sun in Pisces in his 10th house square Saturn in the 7th house indicating conflict between partnerships and his public life.
A day after the civil wedding that transformed one-time Olympic swimmer Charlene Wittstock into the Princess of Monaco, she and Prince Albert II wed in a star-studded religious ceremony Saturday. The couple exchanged 18 carat white gold platinum rings by Cartier. As Albert slipped the ring onto her finger, he winked, and as she put his on, she burst out into a broad smile. The guest-list at the religious ceremony included the kings of Spain, Sweden, Lesotho and Belgium, the presidents of France, Iceland, Ireland, Lebanon, Malta, Germany and Hungary, France's richest man, celebrated opera singers, top models and racing car drivers. Fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld and supermodel Naomi Campbell, also attended. The UK was represented by Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex, the youngest son of Queen Elizabeth II.
As Saturn rules his 8th house could it be that he is now ready to heed Saturn's lesson and take responsibility in the relationship area? We will have to wait and see. Charlene has Uranus in the 7th house, from where it squares the Moon in the 4th house. This is an indication of disruption and change, of needing space within emotional relationships. But the Moon trines Neptune in the 8th house and shows emtional sensitivity towards her sexual partners. Her Sun is conjunct Venus and the M/C in Aquarius opposite Mars in Leo and they make a t-square with Chiron in Taurus. This suggests that problems in her love life are likely to cause many difficulties that will affect her confidence and self-esteem. There are a number of challenging aspects between the two natal charts and the composite charts has a t-square made up of Sun-Mercury opposite Jupiter square Neptune, which is on the cusp of the descendant and suggests that all is not what it seems.
