LUDOVIC KENNEDY DIES by Roy MacKinnon 19th October 2009 Sir Ludovic Kennedy has died in a UK nursing home from pneumonia. He was 89 years old. He was world famous as a broadcast and television personality who interviewed others of important matters in current affairs and belonged to the ‘old school’ where courtesy was of prime importance. Following in his father’s footsteps he joined the navy and fought against the Germans in the Second World War. After the war and completing his education he then worked for the BBC. He edited and produced the radio series 'Did You See’ and later excelled as a television newsreader and programme presenter becoming particular noted for his role as presenter in the BBC’s Panorama programme. The multi-talented Kennedy wrote several books questioning possible miscarriages of justice in connection with some well publicised criminal trials. He was an advocate of assisted suicide and was a former chairman of the Voluntary Euthanasia Society. He was well known for his atheist views. In his horoscope there is a remarkable Grand Trine of Sun/Ascendant in Scorpio, Moon in Pisces and Pluto in Cancer. This configuration links into Saturn in Virgo which opposes the Moon and may help explain his atheism and may also connect to the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction which squares his Sun. At the time of his death Transiting Saturn was conjunct his Sun/Jupiter midpoint (hence pneumonia). Transiting Jupiter also opposes its natal position in Leo. In the Secondary Progressions is to be noted the opposition of Progressed Sun to Progressed Jupiter/Neptune and the almost exact square from Progressed Chiron to Progressed Venus
