ANCIENT HEBREW ARCHAEOLOGICAL FIND by Roy MacKinnon, 30th October 2008 It is reported today that an archaeological team has discovered an ancient Hebrew site in the Valley Elah area. This is the area where reputedly David toppled Goliath. The find is very significant because radiocarbon dating of two burned olive pits shows a remarkably early date of the 10th Century B.C. The team led by Yosef Garfinkel of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem further advises that the discovery of the five acre site has also revealed examples of pottery which was discovered by a student and which shows a very ancient proto-Canaanite script.
