Five Days To Save The Euro

Merkel And Sarkozy Have Five days To Save The Euro 5 December 2011

From BBC NewsThe leaders of France and Germany say the EU needs a new treaty to deal with the eurozone debt crisis. The statement from French President Nicolas Sarkozy and German Chancellor Angela Merkel came after they held crisis talks in Paris.Mr Sarkozy said talks on a new treaty should be completed by March, to ensure such a crisis never happened again. They said eurozone states should face greater checks on their budgets and sanctions if they ran up deficits. The Paris talks come ahead of an EU summit on Friday that is being seen as crucial for the future of the single currency. Mrs Merkel said France and Germany wanted to see "structural changes which go beyond agreements. The two leaders said they wanted treaty changes to be implemented by all 27 EU member states, but if that was not possible, just the 17 states which have adopted the euro. They will present their proposals to European Council president Herman van Rompuy on Wednesday.

"This package shows that we are absolutely determined to keep the euro as a stable currency and as an important contributor to European stability," said Mrs Merkel. Mr Sarkozy said a treaty was needed "to make clear to the peoples of Europe, members of Europe and members of the eurozone, that things cannot continue as they are". Discussions should be held and concluded by March, he said, "because we must move quickly".Five days to save the Euro•Monday: Nicolas Sarkozy and Angela Merkel meet to try and agree a plan for tighter eurozone controls•Italian PM Mario Monti seeks parliamentary approval for his austerity package•Ireland's government begins to unveil details of its proposed austerity budget•Tuesday: US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner arrives in Germany before travelling to France and Italy for talks with euro leaders•Wednesday: The talking continues as many EU leaders gather in Marseille for a European People's Party congress•Thursday: ECB's monthly policy meeting could produce new measures•Thursday and Friday: Crucial EU summit in Brussels to consider Sarkozy-Merkel planThe proposals unveiled in Paris include provision for sanctions to be applied almost automatically on any eurozone country which violates rules on public deficit and runs up a deficit of more than 3% of GDP. Eurozone states would also be required to include in their budgets a "golden rule" against persistently running a deficit, with the European Court of Justice verifying that they had done so. Addressing concerns about countries' sovereignty over their own budgets, Mrs Merkel said the court would not be able to invalidate a budget, but would assess whether the rules it contained corresponded to "a real undertaking to return to a balanced budget".Mr Sarkozy and Mrs Merkel said they wanted the heads of eurozone country to meet for a summit with a "precise agenda" every month as long as the crisis lasts.

Talks about a solution of the Euro debt crisis have been on-going for some time. A meeting of finance ministers and central bankers in Washington on 24 September led to more calls for urgent action, but a lack of concrete proposals sparked further falls in share markets. Crisis talks were held between Angela Merkel and Nicolas Sarkozy to try and find a solution to the problems.Nicolas Sarkozy's d.o.b. is 20 Jan 1955, 22.00 CET, Paris, France. Angela Merkel's d.o.b. is 17 July 1954, 17.45 CET. Hamburg, Germany. There are a number of aspects between their natal charts if you care to take erect them. But I wanted to take a look at their composite chart to see what the dynamic is between these two leaders.I was immediately struck by the Grand Cross configuration consisting of Neptune and Venus conjunct the Scorpio Ascendant from the 12th House in square to a Uranus - Jupiter conjunction at the top of the chart, which squares a Sun-Mercury conjunction close to the Descendant and opposes the Moon and Chiron in Capricorn. Mars is conjunct the Ic and squares Saturn in the 1st House in Scorpio. Saturn is trine Jupiter. Pluto, the ruler of the Ascendant, trines the Sun and Mercury in Aries. This combination of planets indicates powerful dialogue concerning a large political family. Their idealised vision of harmonious partnerships has not allowed them to see the reality of the situation. To the point where they have deceived themselves into thinking that all is well.

This lack of reality has led to the implementation of austerity budgets, which are causing great anger in the people who are suffering as a result. Transiting Saturn is at 26-10' degrees of Libra. It has removed the blinkers and is making them face up to reality and the severity of the situation. L.S.
