The trial of Dr Conrad Murray has begun in Los Angeles. Dr Murray stands accused of the voluntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson, 'the King of Pop'.On June 25, 2009, American singer Michael Jackson died of acute propofol intoxication after he suffered cardiac arrest at his home in the Holmby Hills neighborhood in Los Angeles, California. His personal physician, Conrad Murray, said he found Jackson in his room, not breathing, but with a faint pulse, and that he administered CPR on his bed to no avail. After a call was placed to 9-1-1 at 12:20 p.m., Jackson was treated by paramedics at his home, and later pronounced dead at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. On August 28, 2009, the Los Angeles County Coroner ruled Jackson's death a homicide. Before his death, Jackson reportedly had been administered propofol, along with two anti-anxiety benzodiazepines: lorazepam and midazolam. Law enforcement officials investigated Jackson's personal physician, Dr Murray. On February 8, 2010, Murray pleaded not guilty to charges of involuntary manslaughter, and was released after posting a US$75,000 bail. His trial started on September 8, 2011.
Paramedics performed CPR for 42 minutes at the house. Murray's attorney stated that Jackson had a pulse when he was taken out of the house and put in the ambulance. An LAFD official gave a different account, stating that paramedics found Jackson in "full cardiac arrest", and that they did not observe a change in Jackson's status en route to the hospital. LAFD transported Jackson to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. The ambulance arrived at the hospital at approximately 1:14 p.m. A team of medical personnel attempted to resuscitate Jackson for more than one hour. They were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at 2:26 p.m.Jackson's death also triggered an outpouring of grief around the world, creating unprecedented surges of Internet traffic and causing sales of his music and that of the Jackson 5 to increase dramatically. Jackson had intended to perform his concert series entitled This Is It to over one million people at London's O2 Arena, from July 13, 2009 to March 6, 2010. His public memorial service was held on July 7, 2009, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, where he had rehearsed for the London concerts the night before his death.
The natal chart shows the Sun in Pisces making a trine with Saturn and Neptune in Libra and Jupiter in Taurus (perhaps the Moon too) trine to Chiron in Capricorn. Mercury is also in Pisces and in good aspect with Jupiter and Uranus. All of these point to a possible indication of someone who takes responsibility for those who need healing one way or another. Chiron-Uranus-Venus and Neptune are all linked by difficult aspect and these are likely to have created difficulties at times within his relationships. Disruption, chaos, deception and dissolution would have been issues he'd have to confront. But there is nothing about this chart that stands out as someone capable of manslaughter. For that we need to take a look at the progressed chart (outer wheel) for 2009. We can see the pr Sun opposite natal Saturn, pr Venus trines Pluto but squares the pr Chiron and finally, and perhaps most telling is pr Mars square to Pluto. It could be that the responsibility of looking after Michael Jackson became too much for Dr Murray. It could also be that he needed to continue with this relationship of doctor/patient/friend for financial reasons. Dr Murray may have been under tremendous pressure from Michael to prescribe medication that he needed in order to keep going, eventually leading to Michael's untimely death. The progressed chart for today puts Mars at 21-34' Taurus square natal Pluto at 21-50' Leo. L.S.
Jackson arrived for rehearsal at Staples Center around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24 2009. The singer complained of laryngitis and did not rehearse until 9 p.m. The rehearsal went past midnight. The next morning Jackson did not come out of his bedroom. According to Conrad Murray's attorney, Murray entered the room in the afternoon and found Jackson in bed and not breathing. Jackson had a weak pulse, and his body was still warm. Murray tried to revive Jackson for five to ten minutes, at which point he realized he needed to call for help but there was no landline in the house. Murray also stated that he could not use his cell phone to call 911 because he did not know the exact address. Eventually, security phoned for an ambulance.
What can we learn about Dr Conrad Murray by looking at his natal chart. Unfortunately, I don't have his time of birth so have used noon. I have used a bi-wheel here. The inner chart is his natal chart, set for 19 February 1953, St Andrew, Grenada and the outer chart is the progressed chart set for the date of Michael Jackson's death, 25th June 2009.
