Coalition Gov

100 Days of Coalition Government Lis Seddon 19 August 2010 From the BBC Newspage David Cameron and Nick Clegg in the Rose Garden at no 10

Only one person is ever in charge at 10 Downing Street - but what is decided behind the famous black door is now the responsibility of two men, and two parties. The two men in question, David Cameron and Nick Clegg, barely knew each other 100 days ago.Their two parties, the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats, knew each other only too well.Apart from a few isolated examples in local government, they had been at each other's throats for years.

So, as this most unlikely of political alliances reaches its symbolic 100-day milestone, should Mr Cameron and Mr Clegg be celebrating the successful birth of a new kind of politics, symbolised by their joint press conference in the Rose Garden at Downing Street on day one?Or should they be letting out an exhausted sigh of relief that they made it this far?The chaos and calamity some, including the Conservative Party in a general election broadcast, warned would result from a hung Parliament has not yet come to pass. But there are still formidable hurdles to clear before this experiment in coalition government - the first at Westminster since World War II - can be judged to have been a success.

I have been listening to the various broadcasts over the last couple of day discussing the pros and cons of the coalition. I wondered why I heard mostly negative views and decided to look at the composite chart of the two leaders. The first thing to notice about the chart is Chiron and Saturn as the two planets acting as a handle to a bucket. I think this indicates the responsibility the two men have taken on to try and put the country back together again. That they will meet with a lot of opposition from their MP's and others is indicated by Saturn opposing the stellium of Pluto/Mars and Uranus in Virgo. But with a sextile from Neptune they should be able to push ahead with their goal to change the face of politics in Britain. Saturn is also part of a Grand Trine with Neptune and Jupiter and indicates their work towards realising their vision for a fairer Britain.Jupiter is conjunct the MC and trines the Sun, Venus and Mercury and indicates the positive feeling they express towards each other and the ability to communicate their ideas and thoughts openly.

And to add further to those positive feelings is the sextile aspect between the Sun, Venus and Mercury to the Moon in Libra (partnerships), which isalso sextile Jupiter. This composite chart indicates the ability of the two men to work together. They will have their moments when they clash and have their differences of opinion. But there is a lot of positive energy too.It may be the fact that two politicians with such differing views are willing to work together for the sake of the country is unusual and therefore peoplemay be sceptical and wonder 'How long will this last'?
