BIRDMAN TAKES A DIVE by Roy MacKinnon 25 November 2009 I reported earlier on the Birdman, Yves Rossy, the Swiss pilot who crossed the English Channel using his collapsible wings and tiny jet engines. See Newspage of 29th.Sept. 2008. On that occasion the Birdman was successful. This was not to be the case today when he attempted to fly from Morocco to Spain at Gibraltar hoping to complete the 23 mile crossing. It appears that his in-flight take-off was normal but some three to four minutes later he encountered clouds and stormy weather. It is not clear if his engines were damaged but appears as though his collapsible wings were unable to keep him on a stable course. Consequently he lost control and started to descend very rapidly. Abandoning his wings he then deployed his parachute which opened normally and he hit the cold waters of the Mediterranean. He was soon spotted and picked up by helicopter who took him to hospital for a medical check up. He seems to be unharmed. His take-off was at 2-07 PM GMT (BBC) on 25th. September, 2009, Straights of Gibraltar, 36N00, 5W30. He should have consulted an astrologer. The horoscope for the flight is striking. The Ascendant is Aries 1-26 and Saturn closely opposes at Libra 2-34 while Pluto in square is at Capricorn 2-01 and conjunct the MC at Capricorn 0-50. To make matters worse the Ascendant/MC midpoint is at Leo 16-08 very closely conjunct Mars at Leo 16-03. Opposite to Mars is Jupiter in Aquarius. Meanwhile the Moon in Pisces in 12th House is square to 9th House Mercury. Almost any other time of day would have been better.
