Bernard Madoff, the New York Hedge Fund Business Man had a horrific two/three days when his son turned him in to police for his criminal activities concerning a type of pyramid selling of hedge funds wherein he allegedly conned customers of $50 Billion. Subsequently, he was arrested for his nefarious financial activities by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.If substantiated this will constitute the single largest criminal fraud story ever and allegedly has been perpetrated over many years. Wikipedia advises that Madoff was born in New York on 29th April, 1938.Using 12 Noon EDT here are some preliminary astrological factors.Jupiter – Aquarius 28-05Pluto – Cancer 27-55Clearly, this is a close quincunx and Jupiter-Pluto can convey the hallmark of success. But look at the midpoint – Jupiter/Pluto – Taurus 13-00Uranus – Taurus 13-23This indicates the fame the man would achieve and also his genius. Interestingly, too, the Jupiter indicates his immorality – Jupiter is not always benevolent.Jupiter – Aquarius 28-05North Node – Scorpio 26-57 Venus – Taurus 29-37So, you can see that Jupiter is uncomfortable in the sign originally ruled by Saturn. It is square to the nodal axis and afflicted by a square to Venus. This combination effectively describes his illicit hedge fundactivities.Looking at transits I noticed the following :-Natal Neptune – Virgo 18-36Transiting Uranus – Pisces 18-47Transiting Sun – Sagittarius 18 (for 10th December, 08)This is the day (Sun) when infamy and matters were unexpectedly revealed (Uranus) concerning the deception of securities (Neptune).Transiting Pluto – Capricorn 0-27 Natal Saturn/Neptune – Capricorn 0-12Revelation of financial corruption (Pluto) leading to depression and loss (Saturn) concerning securities where fraud and deception has occurred (Neptune).
Madoff Pleads GuiltyBernard Madoff pleaded guilty to 11 charges of fraud when he appeared in court in New York. The whole proceedings took no longer than one hour and Madoff now is in prison awaiting a long sentence which may well ensure he completes his life behind bars. He turned up for his court appearance hours earlier wearing a bullet-proof vest according to press reports. Meanwhile enquiries continue into the disappearance of what is now estimated to be some $65 Billion of currently missing funds and when the amount of fraudulent transaction over the last twenty years is grossed in with this sum, the total may top a staggering $150 Billion.The hearing commenced at 10 AM EDT in New York on March 12, 2009 and this yields an Ascendant of Taurus 26-11. This is conjunct 1996 TL66 at Taurus 26-05 and the evil fixed star, Algol, at Taurus 26-18. The combination of these three astro-points suggests that the essence of the situation concerns itself with financial horror, indeed holocaust, where peoples’ lives have been ruined as their financial well-being became strangled. Now, Madoff himself was born in New York on 29th April, 1938 but we have no birth time so 12 Noon EDT is used in his horoscope. In connection with the Taurus 26 dominance in his life now needs to be added his Natal South Node which is placed in Taurus 26-54.
Interestingly, Madoff’s Jupiter is at Aquarius 28-05 and as he pleaded guilty to the charges against him Transiting Mars was at Aquarius 28-00. In some ways I think this reflects his acceptance of his crimes because of the act of finding the necessary morality to confess his guilt. Mars as ruler of Aries, which sign is in the 12th House shows that the consequence of this action leads to his placement in prison.Interestingly, in the court hearing chart there is a very close conjunction. This i9s the Sun at Pisces 22-07 and Uranus at Pisces 22-35. The conjunction mirrors a similar but not so close conjunction of Sun and Uranus in early Taurus. Another interesting inter-chart connection is that of Transiting Saturn in the court hearing chart at Virgo 18-05R and in Madoff’s own chart that of his Neptune placed at Virgo 18-37R. Straightforwardly, this signifies a restriction of activities (Saturn) possibly even feeling depressed as a result of deception and fraudulent activity (Neptune).Accurate positions are not available for Madoff’s progressions. However, it is worth noting that in his chart (drawn up for Noon EDT, 29 Apr. 1938) his Pr Sun/Mars midpoint falls at Cancer 18 and Progressed Saturn is in square at Aries 17.6 suggesting a restriction (Saturn) to his personal independence (Aries) because of how he expressed himself (Sun) and what he wanted (Mars). In the court hearing chart it is worth noting that the Mercury/Pluto midpoint is conjunct the MC indicating that the purpose of the hearing concerned itself with corrupt (Pluto) dealings and trans-actions (Mercury). It should be noted too in the same chart that the Venus/Pluto midpoint is conjunct Neptune and Chiron at around 24-
degrees of Aquarius. Remember Chiron signifies wounding or death, Neptune securities and fraud, Venus value and money, Pluto borrowings, debts and corruption. Moon/Neptune midpoint also squares Saturn indicating the debased activity concerning the securities of people. Lastly, it has to be mentioned that there is this huge grouping of planets in Aquarius and Pisces at the top of the chart which give it a high public profile.
