AUSTRALIA HOROSCOPE & THE BUSH FIRES by Roy MacKinnon In his book of World Horoscopes, Nick Campion advises that the first national chart of a modern Australia can be taken to be 26th January, 1788 when colonisation by the British commenced with the arrival of transports at Sydney. Campion gives the time of 5.30 PM LMT and says it was given to him by Gwen Stoney in Australia. He also says that he has not seen any documentation to substantiate the time. Neither has the horoscope been subject to rectification. However, the chart does seem to fit well in the light of the recent Bush Fires and Transits which give the chart validity. Using a date of 7th. February, 2009 at 0.00 UT for the commencement of the fires – I do not have an accurate time – then perhaps the first point to be noted is that the Australia Sun at Aquarius 6-07 is conjunct the solar eclipse immediately before the fires which occurred on 26th January at Aquarius 6-30. When the fires were reported first on the 7th. February, the Sun was at Aquarius 18-21. This is conjunct the Australia Vertex at Aquarius 19-05 which certainly helps to confirm the time. The Part of Fortune is indicated as being at Aquarius 24-25 in this Australia chart. This is remarkably close to Transiting Neptune in the Fire Transits Chart where it is at Aquarius 23-43 and rapidly closing becoming exact on 25th February, 09 by which time the extent of the dreadful ‘sacrificial death toll’ had become apparent. I also note that in Campion’s Australia Horoscope the Moon is located at Virgo 20-16. Transiting Saturn on 7th. February was at Virgo 20-33 and retrograding being exact on 11th February.
