Aesculapia and Kassandra

AESCULAPIA by Roy MacKinnon Discovered on 11th November 1923, Aesculapia is named after asklepios in Greek mythology. The asteroid is a main belt asteroid of about 15 to 20 miles diameter. It has low eccentricity and rotates on its axis in approximately 7 hours. It orbits out beyond Mars and has a semi-major axis of 3.15AU. It orbits the Sun in just over five years. Asklepius, in mthology was the son of Apollo, the healer and was known for his healing work as was his daughter Hygiea, who had healing hands. Water was quite central to the healing methods of Asklepius, where past emotional hurts, toxins and so on were all capabe of being dissolved away. aware that you need to be at peace with yourself, Asklepius supposedly journeyed to the very jaws of death, to the underworld and was snatched from the jaws of death. He was aware of the power of the psyche and of dreams. He also understood the need of mankind to heal by being at one with the environment. In astrology, Aesculapia relates to health matters, bouts of sickness and medical matters. A favourable aspect between Aesculapia and Mars may indicate somebody who works in the medical profession or who excellent muscles or healthy blood. Someone with an adverse aspect of Aesculapia to Jupiter may develop liver problems or have a health problem which could become aggravated or maybe refer to the hips and walking. Transits involving Aesculapia could indicate the beginning or the ending of a health problem. KASSANDRA The asteroid Kassandra was dicovered on 23rd July 1871 and is a member of the main belt. With little eccentricity, the perihelion of 2.3 AU is not hugely less than the aphelion of 3.04 AU. Its rotational period is unknown but its orbital period is, as would be expected, at about 4.4 years. Kassandra is a large asteroid with a diameter of around 100 kms. The asteroid is named after the Greek myth involving Cassandra, daughter of priam and Hecube. As a child she visited Apollo, who granted her the gift of prophecy. Later, she rejected his love and unable to retract his gift, he punished her by ordaining her words would not be believed. In astrology, a prominent Kassandra if well aspected may suggest a good intuition, which might not be heeded by others, depending on the synastry to Kassandra. Often, there is advice giving but the question is that of soundness. Where there are difficult aspects, delusions are possible. Sometimes, there are difficulties in trying to decide whether or not to believe the views of another. Hearing waht others have to say may be ignored and sometimes hearing difficulties, deafness or sensitivities may be experienced. Of interest was the situation of Adolph Hitler, who had Kassandra conjunct his Ascendant/MC far midpoint, Saturn/Uranus midpoint, conjunct Rhadamathus, the judge and trine the Moon's Node. Many of his decisions were taken and made on the basis of his intuition. That he was sometimes believed, sometimes not, got it sometimes right and sometimes wrong, can be seen by the Saturn/Uranus midpoint.
